How to turn photo into Black & White
This tutorial explains how to transform colored photo into black and white using Photoshop.
Original Photo:
Step 1:
Duplicate layer 1 or the background and change the blend mode to overlay.
Step 2:
“Go to Filter > Other > High Pass” and change the radius to 1.2. This would give more details to the photo.
Step 3:
Create new fill or adjustment layer, choose “Gradient Map” with the following format below.
You should have 3 layers by now
The end result should be like this
Note
To add more detail, duplicate layer 2 twice or thrice.
